Central Asian Özbekistan (Uzbekistan) - Tåşkent (Tashkent) Silk Plangi Textile

Hand-loomed silk on silk plangi textile from Tåşkent (Tashkent), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). A traditional art of Özbekistan around Tåşkent based on the use of natural colors and old methods of tie-dying on hand-loomed very fine silk fabrics. Here we see a cochineal dye as a base color along with light mustard yellow and purples. Three panels sewn together.
