Silk Ikat Adras Fragment from Buxårå (Bukhara), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). Adras Ikats are a mixture of 50 % silk warps and 50 % cotton wefts, which gives its body to the fabric and makes it last longer. They are usually woven 300 – 500 feet / 100 – 150 meters long. Amazing saturated natural dyes with teal green, light cochineal, soft yellow and deep Ocean blue colors. It is made of a few fine quality Ikat fragments. Designs reflect the steppe nomadic culture of south Siberia.

 

It is dated to the mid 19th century
