Central Asian Özbekistan (Uzbekistan) -Buxårå (Bukhara) Silk Ikat Adras Panel

Silk Ikat Adras Panel from Buxårå (Bukhara), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). Adras Ikats are a mixture of 50 % silk warps and 50 % cotton wefts, which gives its body to the fabric and makes it last longer. They are usually woven 300 – 500 feet / 100 – 150 meters long. Amazing saturated colors from natural dyes. It was previously used as part of a Çåpån Robe. Now it has been put together from surviving parts to decorate walls. The shine on various parts indicate some parts of egg white surface rubbing survived. It has light rust red backing.

It is dated to the 19th century
