Russian Roller Printed Cotton for Turkic Central Asian Market

An amazing old roller printed cotton that has survived with little wear, secured with hand stitching. These types of fabrics were designed for the Turkic Central Asian market during the Soviet period. This specific design exhibits pitched roofs with temple-like arched entries with hanging chandeliers. The moon and star motiff could have been added on top of the arches to appeal to the Turkic Central Asian market. This is a rather rare old fragment that has survived in good hands. It has plain pinkish cotton backing.
