Central Asian Pakistan - Swat Valley Wedding Shawl

Wedding Shawl from the Swat Valley, Pakistan. Swat is a district of the Malakänd division of Xäybär (Khyber). It was an early center of Buddhism. Fine silk embroidery on hand loomed natural dyed cotton. This was used as a wedding shawl in early years. It has small spot wears but overall no tears and in great condition. Traditional highland floral motifs.

It is dated before or between the 1940s and 1950s.
