Central Asian Türkmenistan (Turkmenistan) - Teke (Tekke) White Chirpy Fragment

Silk embroidered Teke (Tekke) white woman’s Chirpy fragment from Türkmenistan (Turkmenistan). 

Dark blue, green, yellow, and white are the major colors of Türkmen (Turkmen) Chirpies. White ones are rarest. They are made for older respect and learned women to indicate their old age and status. The white color resembles the burial garment one wears when they reach an old age. Only respected women can wear white Chirpies. Traditional fine embroidery with some natural colors.
