Central Asian Tocikston (Tajikstan) – Rubänd (Ruband) Bridal Face Veil

Central Asian Rubänd (Ruband) Bridal Face Veil from Tocikston (Tajikstan). Uyğur (Uyghur) people have a very similar headdress that they call a Çümbäl. However, the Tocik Rubänd tends to be more colorful than its Uyğur counterpart and also differs in the pattern of its cotton crochet. This veil has a silk ikat framing with a chain stitch embroidered top and braided bands with silk tassels. It is dated from the 1930s to the 1940s.
