Central Asian Özbekistan (Uzbekistan) - Şaxrisabz (Shahrisabz) Lakai Headband

Fine chain stitch silk embroidery on hand loomed cotton Låqay (Lakai) headband from Şaxrisabz (Shahrisabz), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). Traditional Låqay motifs. Used and kept in good hands, surviving in great condition up until present. Natural colors of its period besides the lavender color. Today, many Låqay groups live south of Duşänbe (Dushanbe), Tocikston (Tajikstan) as well as North Afğanistan (Afghanistan) and Özbekistan.
