Central Asian Tocikston (Tajikstan) – Hissar Silk Adras Ikat Çåpån (Chapan) Robe

Hissar Antique Silk Adras Ikat Çåpån (Chapan) Robe from Tocikston (Tajikstan). Adras Ikats are a mixture of 50 % silk warps and 50 % cotton wefts, which gives its body to the fabric and makes it last longer. Saturated green, gold, yellow, and two shades cochineal colors were used in harmony. It is lined with roller printed Russian cotton and cotton ikat facing fabric. It is in good condition, some parts still bears egg white treatment from early days. It can still be worn on special days.

It is dated to the 1900’s
