Central Asian Özbekistan (Uzbekistan) - Tåşkent (Tashkent) Silk Suzani

A Silk Embroidered Sozana (Suzani) from Tåşkent (Tashkent), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). Features fine traditional Tåşkent lacing embroidery on plain silk cotton mixed Ikat. Natural colors from vegetable dyes. Floral designs are harmonized with shamanistic values of the crescent moon, an important element of old Turkic shamanism. It is one of the rare Suzanis produced as revival art after the Soviet breakdown.

It is dated between 2000 and 2005.
