Central Asian Özbekistan (Uzbekistan) - Xårazm (Khorazm) Suzani Textile

Fine silk couching embroidery on plain fine cotton Suzani from Xårazm (Khorazm), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). Natural colors with traditional Rumi, trefoil, and scroll designs. It was made in a Xiva (Khiva) workshop established by Christopher Aslan Alexander, who wrote the book “Carpet Ride to Khiva” about his time spent bringing weaving traditions back to Turkic groups in Xiva.
