Central Asian Afğanistan (Afghanistan) - Ärsarı (Ersari) Türkmen Embroidered Hat

Türkmen Ärsarı (Ersari) Silk Embroidered Hat from Afğanistan (Afghanistan). Many Ärsarı tribes are living in North Afğanistan. They all weave their own rugs and textiles. The hat has a good, strong quilted body with lacing stitch covering the whole surface. Triangles in rows with alternating colors cover the side panel of the hat. The dome has a eight pointed star which is used by many Türkmen tribes. In good condition and can still be used. Printed Rus cotton lining. Silk loop-manipulation trim.

It is dated between the 1930s and 1940s.
