Central Asian Tocikston (Tajikstan) – Lakay (Lakai) Embroidered Velvet Hat

Lakay (Lakai) Embroidered Velvet Hat from Tocikston (Tajikstan). The Lakay are one of the Turkic groups living in Özbekistan (Uzbekistan), Tocikston and Afğanistan (Afghanistan). They are famous for their silk embroidery on Ikats and velvet. Fine metallic couching embroidery on deep green velvet. Survived in good hands. Chain stitch embroidery trim with plain cotton lining. Famous Peacock depicted with open tail.

It is dated between the 1930s and 1940s or earlier
