Central Asian Özbekistan (Uzbekistan) – Şaxrisabz (Shahrisabz) Lakai Hat

Lakay (Lakai) Ethnic Tribal Hat from Şaxrisabz (Shahrisabz), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). Silk chain stitch embroidery. Natural dyes from vegetable dyes. Lined with old Rus printed cotton. Lakay people still live in some parts of Özbekistan as well as in North Afğanistan (Afghanistan) and heavily in Tocikston (Tajikstan). They are master embroiderers and weavers. This is a revival hat made when the first tourist groups were visiting Özbekistan.
