Central Asian Tocikston (Tajikstan) - Farğåna (Fergana) Valley Hat

Farğåna (Fergana) Valley Hat from Xucänd (Khujand), formerly Leninobod, Tocikston (Tajikstan). Silk embroidered ethnic hat. It is called a çhakmatur because it folds up to fit easier into the pocket. Most surface embroidery is on a soft green silk. Partly couching and lacing embroidery. Stylized blossoming flowers. Some natural colors. Velvet trim and printed cotton lining.

It is dated between the 1930s and 1940s
