Bead Embroidered Velvet Hat from Qazaqstan (Kazakhstan). Qazaq people traditionally used felt hats in the past with silver and metallic embroidery on them; however, with industrial revolution, many fancy fabrics came out and they began using different materials for their hats. Embroidery with gold-wash metallic yarn on a black ribbed /quilted velvet. And yet, the repeated motif looks like one of their zoomorphic motifs. Plain cotton lining.

It is dated between the 1950s and 1960s
