Teke (Tekke) Silk Embroidered Hat from Türkmenistan (Turkmenistan). Very fine silk embroidery on a hand loomed silk fabric. So called “TAMĞA” tribal signs covering the crown and sides. Natural colors from vegetable dyes with deep Türkmen green that looks black. The area with yellow stripe is the end part of the hand loomed silk fabric. Tribal people cannot waste anything and she felt like she must recycle it too; so, she used it. Life on the country-side teaches you so many values. Hand loomed plain cotton lining. Silk manipulation trim.
