Päştanä (Pashtun) Bead Embroidered Hat from Afğanistan (Afghanistan). The Päştanä are one of the largest ethnic groups in Afghanistan. They used to live a very nomadic lifestyle until they were organized under the Taliban regime. They are very talented with bead work and decorate their homes and themselves with jewelry and beaded tassels and many similar objects. This particular style men’s hat is made with trade glass beads and with traditional designs of the ancient Silk Road. Great condition with an unusually rare color combination.

It is dated between the 1940s and 1950s
