Middle Eastern İran (Persia) - Qaşqay (Qashqai) Embroidered Hat

Qaşqay (Qashqai) Silver Embroidered Hat from İran (Persia). The Qaşqay are the second largest Turkic group that still partly live in nomadic tents in southwest İran. There are very well-known rug weavers and wool producing people under several of their major tribes. This hat may belong to the Qaşquli or Şaqarlı tribes. The front part is quilted and embroidered with high karat silver threads in a traditional style. The back part was covered with hand loomed narrow straps while the top has colorful cotton fabric. It has some patina from being used.

It is dated between the 1950s and 1960s.
