Middle Eastern Lubnän (Lebanon) - Kurd or Äräb Hand Knitted Silk Hat

Kurd (Kurdish) or Äräb (Arab) Hand Knitted Silk Hat from Lubnän (Lebanon). It is a tradition among the North Syrian Kurd tribes, as well as Arab tribes, in Lubnän to knit skull caps in this style with saturated colors. We assume this hat is from the 1930’s. It can even be even earlier. It was not used a long time but has some nice patina. They usually have a couple single tassels hanging from the center top. This one does not have them; so, it might indicate that it was made for Arab and not Kurd tribes, although we do not know it for sure. This one looks more Kurd due to its yellow and green colors.
