Türkmen Embroidered Hat from Qunduz (Kunduz), Afğanistan (Afghanistan). Many Türkmen tribes had to migrate, take refuge in North Afğanistan after the Soviet invasion of Türkistan in the second half of the 19th century. There are also Özbek (Uzbek), Tocik (Tajik), and Äzrä (Hazara) groups living in this area. This hat is probably from the Türkmen Yomut tribe if we go off the design and embroidery. It has uncommon color shades. Wool embroidery was done on a thick hand machine sewn cotton base. Used and in fairly good condition.
It is dated between the 1960s and 1970s.
