Central Asian Altişähär (Xinjiang) – Velvet Metallic Embroidery Dopa (Doppa)

Velvet Dopa with Metallic Embroidery from Altişähär (Xinjiang). It is designed in a four-sided style with a hard body. Metallic embroidery can be seen on the finely quilted deep purple velvet. The floral metallic designs are one of the national Uyğur (Uyghur) motifs that can be seen on many textiles and in paintings. It features a red plain-cotton lining with a black velvet trim.

It is dated from the 1950s to the 1960s.
