Silk Embroidered Çowdur (Chowdur) tribe ceremonial woman's hat from Türkmenistan (Turkmenistan). Quilted and embroidered with silk and lined with printed hand loomed / Kharboz cotton. The Çowdur are one of the important Türkmen tribes of Türkistan (Central Asia). They have their own style in weavings and their tribal textile arts. This is among the types of hats that came out of Türkistan after the Soviet break down.
