Central Asian Afğanistan (Afghanistan) -Xäybär (Khyber) Pass Embroidered Hat

A Şinwari (Shinwari) Embroidered Hat from the Xäybär (Khyber) Pass in Afğanistan (Afghanistan). Features metallic cotton embroidery. Silver yarns were couched with plain black cotton yarn. The design resembles blossoming floral motifs. It belonged to a Şinwari tribal group that lives in high mountain areas. It was worn for a while and has plain cotton trim. Cotton and paper lining.

It is dated between the 1940s and 1950s.
