Central Asian Özbekistan (Uzbekistan) - Xårazm (Khorazm) Xiva (Khiva) Hat

A Türkmen (Turkmen) hat from Xiva (Khiva), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). Türkmen have long inhabited the Xårazm (Khorazm). Features fine hand beaded and metal embroidery on a hard body with velvet backing on the sides. Metallic embroidery verses can be seen on its sides. They are there to protect the owner. This hat has survived in a good condition because it was only used on ceremonial and special gathering days. It is lined with plain red cotton.

It is dated between the 1920s and 1930s.
