Central Asian Afğanistan (Afghanistan) -Xäybär (Khyber) Pass Embroidered Hat

Embroidered Hat from the Xäybär (Khyber) Pass in Afğanistan (Afghanistan). A metallic embroidered ethnic hat. There are some ethnic tribes living in the Xäybär Pass and according to some of my picker friends, this hat belongs to one of those groups. Fine metallic embroidery on the upper part and the velvet lower part. It was used with care and survived in good condition. The lower part was usually wrapped with a fine silk turban. The top has a pinwheel blossoming into flowers motif that wishes a long life for its owner.

It is dated before or between the 1940s and 1950s.
