Central Asian Tocikston (Tajikstan) – Låqay (Lakai) Bag

Cross stitch Låqay (Lakai) silk embroidery with traditional designs from Tocikston (Tajikstan). Both outer sides have some embroidery that was made by a second person. When it was going to be turned into a bag, they made more embroidery to widen it. Workmanship is not as fine in these small areas. Mostly natural dyes besides the grayish and turquoise colors. Backing is made of Rus (Russian) printed cotton. They are mostly used by women to keep anything valuable and rolled with a safety pin or tied with a string.
