Central Asian Avarşahr (Hunnish Central Asia) - Nomadic Style Hat

SKU TOSAR-002
Price

$350.00

Made from a hand-drawn Late Antique Sogdian / On Oq Bodun (Western Turkic Khaganate) design printed silk fabric with silk lining and cotton trim. The textile pattern itself is from the Afrasiab murals in Samarqand (Samarkand), Özbekistan (Uzbekistan). The bracteates are made of solid bronze as are the tassel beads! Finally, the style of the hat is based on a (presumably) Sogdian-made hat that was uncovered from an Alanian burial site. Link below:

The hat is great for cosplay and historical reenactments involving Sogdian, Scythian, Kushan, Turkic, Hunnic, Persian, Sassanian, Armenian, Georgian, Alan, Viking, and/or Rus peoples, among others.

This hat is handmade and is in a large size. It's a bit difficult for me to measure hats (I admit I don't know how to), but it was made by using a size 58 hat template. But message me if you need exact measurements and we'll figure out a way to do that!

If you're interested in this type of hat, but not the design, we can make it in other designs! When I'm bored, I digitize Late Antique and Medieval textile patterns; so, odds are that I have the design you're looking for.

This item is located in our American depot, which ships from the U.S.A.
