Central Asian Avarşahr - Ancient Hunnish Style Textile Fabric Print
$80.00
This design is based on the descriptions of an elephant that was favored by Yevdar (Hephthalite) empresses. This elephant was likely Ayravätä (ऐरावत), the mythical white elephant mount of Indrä (इन्द्र), the Indic god of weather. According to the Monasteries of Luoyang, "(the Yevdar empress) sits on a golden couch (in the shape) of a white elephant with six tusks and four lions (serving as the feet) of the couch." Thus, I incorporated this design into a textile pattern that could very well have existed during the Hunnish empire as an elite textile pattern.
I drew this by hand then digitized it myself, as I do with all my textile designs.
If you want different colors let me know, it can easily be done.
